(Photo by Evening Standard/Getty Images)The American Masters arrangement on PBS has given us some entirely great documentaries throughout the years. It's one of those demonstrates that has the ability to suck you in when you chance upon it while meandering erratically through the channel guide. Lou Reed, Neil Young, JD Salinger, Martin Scorsese, John Muir, and Alfred Hitchcock are a portion of the well known people that American Masters has told the stories of, and right on time one week from now Janis Joplin will be added to the rundown. Perhaps you know a few her tunes and have heard a story or two throughout the years, yet in the event that you're hoping to go somewhat more top to bottom, storyteller Chan Marshall (otherwise known as Cat Power) will let you know more with a little assistance from Pink, Melissa Etheridge, and Juliette Lewis.

Janis Joplin: Little Girl Blue debuts this Tuesday night (May 3) on PBS.
